T O P I C R E V I E Wlibra78Okay, yet another question I need help answering please. When considering composite and synastry, how are you decide on what will affect your relationship if they were to give conflicting reports to an extent? For example, what if synastry were to show good romance indicators, and composite did not have any/many romanctic connections? how would you interpret differences? when should one be considered over the other? Would they give different interpretations or are they similar and a matter of personal interpretation? thanks!Peri quote:Can a composite chart contradict the synastry chart? Both views represent quite different perspectives, and of course, they can disagree. The composite is a third chart, calculated from the two individual horoscopes, and it shows the dynamic of the relationship as a separate (third) entity. The synastry compares the two individual charts and points out what the two people involved "trigger" in each other. There might be contradictions in relationships, just like individuals are full of contradictions by nature. http://www.astro.com/faq/fq_fh_compo_e.htmwilsontcLibra,Lanny in a different post has a useful explanation of when to use each type of chart: quote:Personally, Ithink that composite charts are just as important as synasty charts, and when you use the composite and synasty together, you can really get some good insight on the relationship. I perfer to do composites on couples that have been together a while, not the " I would like to meet this guy, and if I do, what can I expect" type of relationship.Quoting,Tim------------------For information on basic astrological chart interpretation see:http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctcbeebuddyHi Tim & Peri, longtimenosee just got a new comp. Gonna start on the other page again soon. Re. composite vs. synastry the main difference between the two is that the composite is a single chart, it is a third chart, it is an average of two peoples charts you could say. Usually the midpoints between the two peoples charts is how the composite is arrived at. So this composite is sorta a blend of the two individuals and the chart will show the overall feel of the relationship. The synastry is a comparison of two individuals charts. It is a comparison where as the composite is a blend. The synastry is good at showing the specific issues that the people will bring to each others respective tables.beebuddyBasically there is a lot more to a synastry chart from the point of view of the aspects. The composite is a single chart so it is a bit simpler (or at least less time consuming) to interpret IMO.pidauaI agree with Lanny....The composite is best used on a couple that is 1) together (meaning there has already been something established) and 2) the couple spends time together..The composite is a blend of two people that now become a separate entity when together. The chart you see is an expression of their two charts blended together and how that expression manifests in public and within the relationship. If the couple is separated by distance OR they are NOT really together.. the chart is not expressed. An example of the expression like this. Take a couple where the two people, on their own, can go out with friends and have a blast. But for some reason, when they are together, weirdness ALWAYS seems to follow. In their composite chart we may see a major strain between Mars / Uranus with one of those planets in the 11th house (of public activities). Fighting or attracting odd events is something that the couple can express as a result of being together. (I actually felt this type of aspect with an ex.. we do wonderful on our own.. but together in public, with music, friends and alcohol flowing.. things would get ugly - normally due to his jealousy... - and that is where synastry also comes in).Synastry can be used between two people that haven't met because it shows how YOU two affect each other in an individual level. I like synastry to give me a snap shot on how things will evolve or what aspects he may have that can get under my skin and vice versa. For example, if you find your moon falls into his 12th house, you can anticipate that there could be a closeness that will be a bit unsettling to him. You emotional connection is in his house of secrets.. he may feel vulnerable. If his Sun falls into your first house you may expect to feel "vitalized" when he is near to you... does that make sense? In my newest relationship I am with someone who's synastry is complimentary to mine. We have a few rough patches.. which have come out- specifically a few communication issues. I used our synastry charts to get a feel for the potential blessings and curses. Now our composite is phenomenal.. just great with our 7th house loaded with the Sun, moon, venus..etc...Together we are a beautiful team. We have an implicit trust between each other and time seems to fly by faster than I have ever experienced before. The composite chart is also subject to affects from transiting planets - so that also needs to be taken into account. You can do a composite before you get involved if only to get a "feel" for what "could" be if you share a solid relationship. I would advise that you wait to use it until one has been established.Good luck The Mutable Night ForceOne thing I've found-When talking about serious relationships, composite is more accurate and valid.Synastry is just how two people's different placements will react to each other and can show the potential of how well they'll get on, I think.Composite, as I think everyone else has already said, is a blending of two auras or something. It's how you function as a couple, as two human beings, as a force, together. So it's more about areas of difficulty and pleasure and an overview of a relationship and not simple attraction/detraction.I've seen people with no spectacular synastry have fantastic composites and they were real couples. But I've had great synastry with someone but obviously not been in a relatinship with them and unsuprisingly, the composite wasn't amazing.I know this will probably sound like the dumbest question on earth, and I'm expecting the answer, but can composite charts change?ie. Two people are not a couple and composite is 'alright'. They at some point in the future become a couple and composite miraculously looks good! ?Well, I didn't think so but it's worth asking libra78thanks everyone for your detailed and insightful explanations of synastry vs composite. I guess all in all, that they are both important in their own right. 1) One question about composite though- the midpoint idea between the charts- isnt there give and take in a relationship usually so how can we expect a perfect middle-of-the-run explanation of how 2 people would get along? Wouldnt some things fall in the middle but others towards one person or the other?2) what does it mean as Pidau said above, "For example, if you find your moon falls into his 12th house" how would I determine these sort of things for my chart and hers? An explanation of how to figure this out would be awesome. Thanks!wilsontcLibra,You asked: quote:1) One question about composite though- the midpoint idea between the charts- isnt there give and take in a relationship usually so how can we expect a perfect middle-of-the-run explanation of how 2 people would get along? This means that the midpoint between one person's Mars and another person's Mars is only one point. IF the people are balanced in their expression and work TOGETHER (the definition of a composite chart) then the midpoint energy will be strongly expressed. If the one or the other person instead tries to be the "stronger" one in the relationship then the midpoint energy will not be strongly expressed. This is why the emphasis in composites (chart created of midpoints between two people) is on making sure there is a long-term, dedicated relationship in which the couple works WITH each other.2) You can create a synastry chart on http://www.astro.com by clicking on the "Extended Chart Selection" link in Astrodienst after you have created the two charts.Answering,Tim------------------For information on basic astrological chart interpretation see:http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctclibra78Hey Tim, thanks, I managed to find the synastry chart and saw how each planet fell in the partners house.
